We are excited to share this special day with you all. East Beach, Rhode Island is a special place for the Bride as she grew up going to this sandy spot and has countless memories of nothing but days of joy with friends and family filled with endless belly laughs and summer nights you just don't want to end. In recent years, this special place has become a source of happiness for the Groom. The happy couple is excited to have East Beach continue to be a beautiful memory.
Went out to breakfast at Eggs Up with one of my girlfriends, Ellie. We had just placed our order for food when the waitress came back over and dropped down two steaming hot chocolates, covered in mounds of whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. The waitress pointed over to a table of 10-plus grinning, while slightly snickering, group of guys. Ellie laughed as she explained how she knew them. Of course, we had to send something back. In return, we sent over one cold "hot" chocolate with 10 brightly colored straws "aka chocolate milk". As the guys finished their breakfast and headed to leave, they stopped over to say hello and introduced themselves. This is when I first met Alex. Months later at Salty, my parents were in town for parents' weekend. After a couple of drinks and a bag of peanuts, my dad found himself challenging all the Pikes to a round of quarters (confirming you did win Jack, and have since been reimbursed) and I think you can all guess who was sitting chatting with my mom... Alex. They talked for hours, and I still wonder to this day what they talked about. When it was time to leave Alex so kindly coordinated a ride to get my parents back to their hotel, at which point I remember having some sort of conversation with my mom and dad along the lines of "please do not embarrass me". These are a couple of my most memorable introductions to meeting Alex. We countlessly found ourselves in the same place at the same time and, most importantly, the right time. Some may call it fate. I would have to agree.
“Wanna go to Eggs Up???” “Not at all” “Cmonnnnn buddyyyyyy we’ll have so much fun. You’re the best at coming to Eggs Up” “Frigg it, I’m in!” Little did I know this would be the best decision of my life. We pulled into the parking lot and made our way to the door. We saw a friend of ours along with someone noone had ever met before. She was the most beautiful girl I’d ever laid eyes on. I could only manage to get out 6 words. “I’m Alex” “Hi, I’m Alexis” “Nice to meet you” After that, I stood there with a dumb look on my face and watched as she chatted away, too stunned to say another word. We got a table shortly after and as we walk to it, I turned to Kyle and told him that that I had to get this Alexis girl's number. He laughed and said that that would require me to say more than 3 words to her. Midway through our meal, we got a great idea to send over a glass of hot chocolate with extra sprinkles to their table with 2 straws. Like a bunch of middle schoolers, we cracked up when they got it confused as to why a chocolate milk and why two straws. Shortly thereafter, our waitress tapped us on the shoulder to give Kyle and me a chocolate milk with two straws. Touché. As we walked out, we stopped by their table to thank them for the chocolate milk and chatted for a few minutes. The rest of the day ensued like any other (hang out on our porch, go to Salty, take mind erasers, go to sleep) except for one difference... I couldn’t stop thinking about this Alexis girl.
