Pulmonías are Mazatlán’s iconic open-air vehicles that look like little golf carts. They are quintessential to the Mazatlan experience and are everyone's favorite taxis to get around town! You can easily grab one along the Malecón, in the Golden Zone in front of your hotel, near hotels, or around popular tourist areas; just wave one down and agree on the price before hopping in. Make sure to have cash, and let your driver know what music you want played (we recommend requesting Banda music!) They first appeared in Mazatlán in the 1960s and became such a beloved local symbol that they are now part of the city’s identity and history. Riding in one is one of the most fun ways to see Mazatlán, especially along the oceanfront Malecón with music and your besties!
This is one of the most beautiful areas in Mazatlan, with tons of food, drink, and local vendors selling things around the plaza. It is also one of the most historic areas of Mazatlan, and is always filled with people and ambiance. Go here to grab a drink and walk around the Centro Historico to see some of the beautiful architecture and vibrant buildings.
There is always tons of people gathered here dancing, drinking by the beach, and listening to Banda!
