Our Story

Who would have though in 2019 a single internet connection would bring a girl in Buffalo, NY and a boy in Oceanside, CA together? Not us. Two years of on and off conversations turned into a mysterious text to hang out in the summer of 2021. For the two weeks Austin was in town for his summer break, we spent almost every other day doing something; from night drives to beach dates to nursing him back to health from Lake Erie’s water. On June 8th, in Glen Park in Williamsville, NY, their relationship was official! Austin would then be deployed for an 8 month span keeping long distance alive through sporadic emails, random phone calls, and many cosmic brownies in the mail. Once he returned back to the States, Lexi was living abroad in Florence, Italy in winter of 2022. It only seemed right that Austin settle in for the 11 hour flight from San Diego to Italy next. We spent a week moving from Rome to Florence to Venice together doing our favorite things: eating and wandering. Once Lexi returned stateside, she spent every few months flying to see him on long weekends. Time in between was spent on FaceTime or snapping each other throughout the 3 hour time difference. In 2023, after Lexi graduated college, Austin moved back to the northeast to attend college at Brown University. We spent a week in July 2023 driving cross country from Oceanside, CA to Providence, RI. During this time, we picked up Pip, our miniature dachshund in Indiana. It wasn’t long that Lexi officially move in the fall of 2023 with her dog, Patch, a rescue, and we have been happy here since. Come end of summer 2025, in the spur of the moment, we organized our first trip to Paris. In a picture perfect scene, after riding on horses through the Versailles estate, Austin finally knelt down on one knee and proposed. With Lexi’s mothers’s blessing and her grandmother’s diamond, she said yes!
