We met during a college visit at Salt Lake Community College. Arienn was a senior in high school attending ECTA High School in, Las Vegas, Nevada. I (Alexia) was a junior attending Herriman High School in, Herriman, Utah. During the visit it was instant chemistry but a scary idea to pursue someone that was so far away. Within a month on October 4th, 2016, Alexia and Arienn began the journey of their friendship and soon to follow relationship. We soon learned that not even distance could break the bond we had and the connection in our hearts.
It was the first snow day of the year, yes perfect timing, right? Arienn had been snooping around as she knew I (Alexia) was keeping a big secret. She knows me best and I did everything I could to keep her off my trail as I picked the ring and waited for it’s final touches. From coordinating with family and making fake screen shots it was a success to keep the big secret! We planned to reshoot some photos we took in 2018 with some of our closest friends. Unsuspecting, we went up to Big Cottonwood Canyon as the snow fell and the air chilled. Finding the exact spot we took one of our most loved photos I was able to recreate the moment in a different and magical way. As we posed for our photo I turned to her and got down on one knee holding a ring perfectly picked for her and told her, “it’s time, honey.” From that moment she knew I had pulled off the impossible and was caught in pure surprise! With smiles and laughs and tears she said, “Yes!”
