Florida is pretty warm in the summer so make sure to pack a bathing suit! If you have free time, take a drive over to Rainbow Springs and float down the river. The water is crystal clear and you can watch the fish swim beneath you. At the end of the river you can catch a shuttle back to the top. Distance from Ocala: 35 min drive
Crystal River is the only river in the United States that you are legally allowed to swim and pet Manatees. Alexia and her family would take their pontoon boat out to the river when she was growing up and they would watch the Manatees all day. If you keep your eye out you could possibly see dolphins too! As a little girl her two older brothers and dad would explore the abandoned ship wreck after canoeing to the island. This river truly has adventures round every corner.
