We met through High School....Band to be specific... I was in Colorguard & Alex was in Drumline, which is a basic coupling in the Marching Band world for those who know. There was a trip to NY my senior year, I shared a room with Paige (Alex's sister), and that trip is when things started to spark, we started to talk or flirt more like teenagers would do. After time goes by, I am looking for a date for my senior prom. Through some mutual friends, I asked them to set me up with Alex. I never did ask him with a "promposal" which I'm sure, if you know Alex, he still has some feelings about even 10 years later. Prom rolls around, Alex came to my house to pick me up, met my parents, my Dad helped pin his boutonniere, took pictures, then he met all my friends at pictures, the whole nine yards.... from opening doors for me to pinning up the train on my dress, he was leaving no room for critique. Through that summer we would still see each other, but I expected it to fizzle out and that be the end. Little did I know Alex is one of the most persistent people I know. He never stopped calling, so we never stopped talking. Alex is the most genuine, thoughtful and loving guy I could ask for. From 2016 when he asked me to be his girlfriend in the same gazebo he proposed to me in 10 years later, each time he planned every little detail that I will never forget. In 2016 he played She's Mine Pt 1 by J. Cole as we pulled into Rose Tree Park, and Congratulations by Post Malone when we left. I still remember how happy, giddy, lucky, and full of love I felt then because it has never changed. This year will be 10 years together, and we are just getting started. Our love is the easiest Yes of a lifetime.
