Robert and Alexa’s story began at Purdue in 2020, during their freshman year. They met at a Rosh Hashanah dinner at Hillel, where they were seated at the same table. They quickly bonded over their shared love of marching band, and by the end of the night, Robert walked Alexa back to her friend’s dorm. Neither of them knew it then, but that walk was the beginning of their story. Not long after, Robert asked Alexa out, and their first date was at Jersey Mike’s. They made things official that November, and their college years were filled with Harry Potter movie nights, stargazing in the cornfields, Chabad Friday nights, and finding every excuse they could to spend time together. They also became each other’s biggest supporters: Robert cheered on Alexa at baton twirling performances and games, sometimes even working the events and finding a way to get her on the jumbotron, while Alexa supported Robert through his theatre program and countless shows. After college, long distance became part of their relationship as Robert toured the country with Disney on Ice and later *The Book of Mormon*, while Alexa attended graduate school and began her career as a geophysicist. Airports, long drives, phone calls, and countdowns to the next visit became part of their routine. From Chicago to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, they found ways to make the time they had together meaningful. On July 20, 2026, in Rome, Italy, Robert got down on one knee and asked Alexa to marry him. After nearly six years together, it felt like the perfect beginning to the next chapter in a story that began with a Rosh Hashanah dinner, a shared love of marching band, and a walk back to a dorm. Robert and Alexa are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all the people who have been part of their story along the way.
