Winter Park is at 9,100 feet of elevation. For those coming from a lower elevation climate, you may experience symptoms of altitude sickness. Most cases are very mild and you will have at least two hours to acclimate to the 6,000 feet of elevation that is Denver. Symptoms may include headache, nausea, tiredness, trouble sleeping, dizziness, and shortness of breath. PLEASE PLEASE drink lots of water and be wary of your alcohol intake as it will affect you much quicker.
We will be staying at Fraser Point Crossing at the Winter Park Resort from July 18th (Thursday) to July 21st (Sunday). The Winter Park Resort owns a number of hotels that have different price points to fit any budget. They range from a 1-bedroom at the Vintage for $135 a night to a 3-bedroom in the Zephyr Lodge for $600. All of the properties are within a 5-minute walk from each other. The Winter Park Resort gives us a 5% discount and that link is connected to each property page on our hotel --- just click the links! We actually found our place on VRBO for much cheaper. Anything in Zephyr Lodge, Fraser Crossing, the Vintage, or Founder's Pointe works. We would suggest looking into a place fairly soon- Winter Park can be a popular place in the summer.
