FAQs

The Wedding Website of Alex Hargrave and Tyrus Garrett
(Us setting up camp)
Question

What do I wear?

Answer

Our wedding will be dressy casual - Sundresses, dress shirts, and slacks are perfect. Mountain weather can be chilly, so please bring layers and comfortable clothing, especially for camping. Bring a rain jacket, too, just in case. Any Western flare - bolo ties, cowboy boots, fringe - is encouraged but not required. :)

Question

Wait...camping?

Answer

The camp has several vault toilets, a building with a kitchen and dance floor, and plenty of outdoor space for camping and partying, plus a fire pit. We will have potable water for drinking and washing hands along with toiletries at the restrooms. We would love for you to camp with us if you're able! When RSVP on this website, we ask you to confirm whether you're camping. If you have equipment you're able to bring, we'll have you indicate that. Otherwise, we will plan to have everything you need for a comfortable experience in a tent overnight. If camping is outside your comfort zone, this is a great opportunity to give it a go in one of the most beautiful places ever!!! Our vision is having all of you camp with us and party into the night. If you're planning to camp Friday night (the night before the wedding) you'll indicate that in your RSVP. In the event of inclimate weather, we will seek shelter in the building. We will have yard games and some fun activities to do after the ceremony and plan to party well into the night. Should you decide to stay in town or find other accommodations on Saturday night, we ask that you do not drink and drive; the mountain can be hazardous to drive on and there is a lot of wildlife on Hwy 16 during the day and night. DRIVE SAFELY, and remember to downshift while descending the mountain to prevent your brakes overheating.

Question

What should I pack for camping?

Answer

Clothes - during the day it may be hot, but don't let that fool you. Pack some layers and maybe a jacket to add on as night comes. Rain Jacket just in case. Water Bottle We will have some sunscreen, bug spray, soap, and other amenities. Won't hurt to bring your own if you would like. Tent, sleeping bag, tarp, and a sleeping pad. We have some to lend out so let us know.

Question

No cell phone service, WHAT?!

Answer

I know, I know. It is jarring. We will have a satellite phone for emergencies. Enjoy some time away from the doom scroll!

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

No! You have traveled so far and we know it is expensive and time-consuming to come all this way. Truly, that is the gift in itself. We would love if you'd bring a card -- again, NOTHING IN IT NECESSARY except for a kind message for the newlyweds. Alex is planning to create a wedding scrapbook, and the art on the cards and your kind messages will be wonderful additions.

Question

Can I bring pets, children or a plus one?

Answer

We ask that you leave your beloved animals at home, and only bring humans who are listed on the invitation you received in the mail.
