We’re getting married!

It was a regular Thursday in October. Trevor was working, & I was enjoying my day off running errands & treating myself to a manicure. I was grocery shopping, & texted Trevor about dinner. He responded right away & told me "Not to worry about dinner because he had a new Pinterest recipe he wanted to make." I offered to pick up ingredients, but he assured me he had it covered. I rolled my eyes & went on with my life. Later that day, I looked at the clock & realized it was late..where was Trevor & his dinner plan?! I was hangry! Trevor was late & now I had to come up with a dinner plan! I was composing a sassy text, when I heard our back door open. Trevor’s face appeared around our door with a sheepish grin. He had an early birthday surprise & told me to close my eyes. When I opened them, I was face to face with two big green eyes, a pink nose, & the longest white whiskers! I immediately started crying; for months I had begged Trevor for a kitten! We named our kitten “Tux” since he was a black and white tuxedo cat. I was playing with my precious kitten & bossing Trevor around to “set up the litter box” & “get his food & water dishes”. I didn’t know that Trevor had a ring in his pocket & was trying to propose. I was taking pictures of Tux & completely ignoring Trevor, when my best friend Anne-Taylor called. Before I could answer Trevor snatched my phone & demanded that I “LISTEN”! He took a deep breath & reached into his pocket & pulled out a ring! I was speechless. A kitten & a ring?! I cried, he cried. It was the easiest decision I ever made. Trevor thought of everything that day! He had my parents waiting to celebrate at our favorite restaurant, Press 626. He made sure my nails were freshly manicured! It was purrrfect. On a side note, Trevor is most proud of the way he tricked me into getting my nails done without making me suspicious. The day before the Proposal he shamed me for my hot pink finger nail polish because “it was Fall & my nails looked like Summer.”

We first met helping our friends move into their new apartment. It was a busy moving day & there wasn't much time for talking, but I remember that Grant and Anne-Taylor were eager for there to be sparks between us. Trevor was Grant's 1st year roommate, and AT had spent that year grooming Trevor for me. I was still living in Richmond and Trevor was a busy 2nd year Med student, we were not amenable to their plan for our future. The next few times I visited Norfolk Trevor was either busy studying or out of town. Finally, AT saw the perfect opportunity and convinced Trevor to ask me to be his date to the Med School Formal in April. Coincidentally I would already be in VB because AT & I had a girls weekend planned in Cape Charles with some of our friends. I said yes, but after months of terrible Match & Tinder dates I had VERY low expectations. *Spoiler* Trevor later revealed to me that he knew he wanted to date me after I told the story of my infamous Tinder date when my dog Riley murdered 6 chickens. It turns out I was wrong, in this one specific instance. It was the BEST date I ever had. Trevor wooed me with his killer dance moves (have you seen him do The Wobble?!) and his corny jokes. I impressed him with my nursing war stories. I moved to VB a month later, and the rest is history!
