we're getting married

They say timing is everything. When I (Alex) flew to Sacramento to surprise my best friend Maddy for her birthday in January 2022, I had no idea I was about to meet my perfect match - Maddy's brother, Taylor. We hit it off so well that I even pushed back my flight another day to hang with the Boone crew... sorry work! What followed was a whirlwind of constant texts, late-night calls, and Taylor surprising me with flower deliveries. A month later, Taylor flew up to Seattle, where I showed him around - from beer tastings to rooftop bars. We took an impromptu boat tour of South Lake Union with my closest friends, capping it off with sunset beers at Discovery Park. By the end of that weekend, we both knew this was something worth pursuing. 2022 turned into our year of adventures. We split our time between dancing at Stagecoach in Palm Springs, exploring NYC for Taylor's 30th, and mastering the I-5 drive between Seattle and Sacramento. The distance became just a minor detail in our story. Fast-forward three years of alternating between our two cities, and Taylor planned the perfect NYC proposal and it was an easy "yes". Now, we're building our life in Seattle, juggling careers and hanging out with friends, all while trying to keep up with our energetic pup Scooby in the city we now both call home.
