Tara and I met in the fall of 2018. We had both joined a sports league...a bar sports league. As fate would have it, we were placed on the same team. Each week we would pair up and play darts, flip cup, cornhole and our favorite....shuffleboard. Tara and I would stay after each game to talk and get to know one another. Sometimes we would play pool. While neither of us were any good at it, we knew it was a good excuse to stay a little bit longer and get to know each other better.
I proposed to Tara on May 7th, 2021. The day went perfectly. I made reservations at King Street Oyster House in Middleburg, VA for a little lunch date. After lunch, we went to Cana Vineyards and Winery. When we arrived, we got a bottle of wine and then walked up to the gazebo that overlooked the Vineyard. Since it was a bit gloomy, no-one was up there. Tara promptly took out her phone and started taking selfies. It was a new phone and she was very excited to take photos with it. After several (and I mean several) photos, I started my speech. Tara at first did not understand why I was talking during photo time. It wasn't until I got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and asked "Will you Marry me?" that it all clicked. There was no hesitation, she immediately and excitedly said "YES!"
