We met by chance at breakfast during the last week of school before summer let out. I was entering the dining hall and as I waited in line I briefly saw a guy with a banana in his hand stop walking and look my way (I thought it was a little weird). I brushed it off and got my biscuits and gravy and sat down for my meal. I was alone, so I had my headphones in. Suddenly the same guy from before comes up to me and asks to show me some cool tricks with this toy ball and a yo-yo. I was mildly impressed and he asked to hang out, I accepted his offer and we ended up spending that last week together on some of the best dates I'd ever been on. The rest is kind of history.
We had been discussing how to decorate our little patio with plants for a few days, so when he came home quickly one day he asked if I knew what kind of box I had wanted for the plants. I thought he was referring to planters or pots, so I told him I didn't know and that we would have to go look. He kept pestering the subject, asking what color of box or what size. I was getting slightly irritated because I didn't know, "what kind of box I wanted." He got oddly specific with the questions, asking if I wanted a green box or a white box or a little white box. I turned away for a brief second and he asked if I wanted a "really little white box" and then he got down on one knee with a tiny little white box in his hand. I almost kicked it away because I thought he was joking! I cried and he cried and it was the best way he could've ever asked!
We got the surprise of our lives about a month after we booked our venue. We were expecting a baby! That definitely changed plans a little, and so we decided to push our wedding back one year. With the arrival of our baby boy, Turner, it will only add to our lives.
