On our first date, Alex planned for us to go on a picnic in Westgate park in Hawley. He packed the sandwiches and hot chocolate. At the time, I was able to drive so I picked him up and we drove to the park. Shortly after we arrived at the park, Alex realized he left the hot chocolate he made at home but didn’t want to go back to grab it. Despite it being a little chilly, our date in the park was a lot of fun and we had lots to talk about. We made up for the missing hot chocolate by heading over to a nearby gas station, and we were able to sit down inside (where it was a bit warmer) to get some hot chocolate. It was a perfect first date!
The night we got engaged, was our fourth anniversary. Alex made it clear he wanted to plan a date for our anniversary, so I let him do all the planning for the day. When the day came, we went to a restaurant named Mackenzie River and then we drove to Woodlawn Park. I was under the impression we were just going for a little walk to continue our date. We walked down to the river, and were just having a great time walking on the rocks and looking at the river. As I started packing up the blanket we were sitting on, I turn around to see Alex down on one knee! I was shocked, but it was such an easy yes. Later on when we started telling everyone, I found out Alex told EVERYONE about his plan and I was the last to find out! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
