Dive into one of Austin's true gems! Alex visits it frequently since it's a cool 69 degrees year-round. We recommend using the back entrance off of Azie Morton Drive. There is a small fee to enter.
A new addition to Austin's skyline, the Austin Public Library is a lovely place to wander. Go to the top to enjoy the butterfly garden and a great view.
Yes we really put a grocery store as one of our "Things to Do." If you're staying the weekend, you may want to pick up some staples and this store has a wonderful selection. But, it also has live music and dancing! It has been a hit with Alex's parents.
You can't go to Austin and not see live music. The Continental Club is sure to have a great act for you to see!
After a dreary winter, it's time to find a cheery porch and eat lunch outside. Fresa's has treated us well over the years. Start with the queso, share the chicken, and sip on a margarita or two under the oak trees. We'll be jealous!
You can't leave Austin without TexMex, specifically good breakfast tacos and enchiladas which you can find at Habanero's. Would Alex lead you astray? It's cash-only and only open for lunch.
Need coffee to get you through the day? We love this little spot and they have other locations throughout the town. We always order a capuccino - their version is essentially a flat white.
Are you like Sheila's mother and always have a reason to shop? Rock Rose and the Domain have great options! You can even pass by the Lonestar Court where we first met - though we don't recommend checking it out.
