This place is beautiful, old and mysterious. Only great experiences. Amazing food and lodging. Guided tour is a must. Staff is informative and extremely friendly.
Afton Villa Gardens
These gardens are truly a Springtime Haven. Included are such local favorites as azalea and wisteria. Down by the pond you can find Louisiana Iris. There are some beautiful flowering trees and a cultured maze. But the true star of the gardens are the bulbs. Among the ruins of the old plantation house are a multitude of tulips beautifully planted with annuals for gorgeous colors. And just across the lawn planted down the hillside are hundreds of daffodils. It is an awesome sight to behold.
Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site
A wonderful old plantation chock-full of history since its building and of the surrounding land. Terrific photographic opportunities abound throughout this entire plantation.
West Feliciana Railroad Caboose
Cute and historic stop if you are in the beautiful town of St. Francisville! Train is kept up well and clean on the outside. Also has a covered picnic table to the side. Louisiana needs more of these historic sites preserved!
