This is Alex's FAVORITE beach in Lake Tahoe! Sand Harbor is in North Tahoe so it is a bit of a drive, but it is famous for its giant granite boulders, Caribbean color waters, and panoramic views of the mountains. There's also kayak rentals and a full bar!
Considered a world class golf course where you can play 18 holes!
Heavenly is one of the most popular ski resorts in Tahoe. In the summer you can ride to gondola up to the top of the mountain and enjoy zip-lining, tubing, rock climbing, food and more!
Some of the best tacos and drinks you will ever have! A must visit in Tahoe.
One of the most famous bays in the world. The scenery here is incredible. The bay holds the only island in Lake Tahoe. From Emerald Bay you can take a number of different day hikes up into the mountains or down to the lake or just enjoy the amazing view from the pull out off the road. It is definitely worth the drive just for the view or you can plan a whole day down there if you have the time. You can also visit Vikingsholm which is a historic 38-room mansion which sits on the shores of the bay and is considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States. Tours of the castle are offered daily. You must park at the road and walk down a steep 1-mile trail (400 foot elevation change) to the lake.
If you are looking to experience Lake Tahoe from the water, this marina offers everything from speed boats and jet skis to paddle boards and kayaks. Or if you prefer to relax on the shore, sit back with a cocktail at the beach bar and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Tahoe's South-East shore.
