No need to rent a car! There are multiple ways to get to Providence by plane or train: - Boston Logan Airport, BOS (then ~ 1 h train ride to Providence) - Rhode Island International Airport, PVD (a 10 minute drive to Providence or 20 minute bus) - Amtrak, which connects the Northeast corridor Getting from Boston Logan Airport to Providence: From BOS Airport: - Take the silver line shuttle (SL1) from the airport to South Station - When you arrive at South Station you can either take the Commuter Rail (1 hour 10 mins) or Amtrak (~35 minutes) directly to downtown Providence From Boston: At South Station, get the Commuter Rail (other stops in Massachusetts also available) or Amtrak (35 minutes direct from Boston) to downtown Providence. Note: The last train leaving Boston is at 11:55 pm, and 11:25 pm leaving Providence Driving from Boston to Providence is 50 minutes. Uber/Lyft is widely available.

Commuter Rail Schedule

Runs aprox every hour on weekdays, and every 2 hours on weekends. Tickets are $12.25 on weekdays and for travel Saturday and Sunday you can get a $10 round trip pass that can be used all weekend. 1 hour 10 minute train ride from South Station. Amtrak is also available, and is an even faster ride (~35 minutes), running every 30 mins- 1 hour. Ticket prices vary. https://www.amtrak.com/home.html
