Our journey began, as many great stories do, in the unlikeliest of places: medical school anatomy lab orientation. It was there, amidst the buzz of new beginnings and the faint scent of formaldehyde in the basement of Mazurek that our paths first crossed. Riaz, across the room, first spotted Alex – a moment that, unbeknownst to us then, would mark the quiet start of everything. It wasn't a dramatic, movie-scene beginning, but rather a slow, comfortable unfolding. Our first date in January 2020 was, fittingly for two med students, a study date. What began as a shared pursuit of knowledge quickly blossomed into something far deeper. We found ourselves not just studying, but also sharing our thoughts, dreams, and the subtle contours of a budding connection. Fast forward to October 2024, our story took a breathtaking turn on a beautiful Florida beach. It was there, with the rhythmic crash of waves as our soundtrack, that Riaz asked Alex to spend forever together. And Alex said yes! From the intense halls of medical school to the serene shores of Florida, our love story is built on shared ambitions, quiet understanding, and a deep, abiding affection.
