Many years ago in a far away land known as Canada, at the young age of 18, I developed my first crush on my soon to be husband. The feelings were mutual, but those of you who knew 21 year old Glen, knew he would have never admitted to it. We eventually fizzled out, but always held a torch for each other. Over the years we kept in touch on and off, but eventually we drifted apart. About a decade or so passed and Glen sent me a text out of the blue asking me if I was snowboarding at Mount Holly. He wanted me to come meet him and his groomsman Matt at the bar. I was not snowboarding that day, and I am still not 100% sure if I have a doppelgänger or if Glen just wanted a excuse to text me (sneaky sneaky). That one text opened the flood gates to getting to know each other all over again and falling for each other rather quickly. We were seeing each other for a few months, when Glen finally forced me to be his girlfriend. Yes, forced. I had no desire to have a boyfriend, but even less of a desire to lose him. So roughly two and a half years later he asked me to be his wife in the most beautiful mountain filled backdrop in Park City, Utah. The poor man was shaking like a leaf. I have never seen Glen nervous, except in this moment. I balled like a baby, asked “are you sure?”, and then eventually said, Yes! We all know how much I love Harry Potter, and it just happened to give us the most perfect quote for our love story. After all this time...? Always.
