FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding located?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held at The Arbory. Located at 2219 W Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60612

Question

I am driving to the venue, where can I park?

Answer

While The Arbory does not have a dedicated parking lot, there is ample free street parking along Grand Ave and within the neighborhood. We have secured a private lot a short walk away for added ease with parking. The lot is located at Mitchell Elementary School (2233 W Ohio), with the entrance to the lot located directly behind the school on Race Street.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. Think cocktail dresses, midi or floor length dresses and dressy jumpsuits are all great options. For suits, dress pants with button-down shirts are ideal with ties as optional. We kindly ask that guests avoid casual attire like jeans, so the overall look feels a bit more elevated.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Check back later for more details on transportation to and from the venue!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5pm. We recommend arriving at least 20-30 minutes prior. Anyone arriving after 5pm, will be asked to wait in the cocktail reception area until the ceremony is finished.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We always say the more the more the merrier, however, due to our venue size we are only able to accommodate those on the invitation.

Question

I've never been to a queer wedding before, what can I expect?

Answer

You can expect a joyful, love-filled celebration, like any other wedding! The ceremony and reception will feel familiar, but there will be non-traditional touches that reflect us. If you come ready to support, celebrate, and have a great time, you’ll fit right in.
