Maid of Honor
Maddie and I have been best friends since the 2nd grade and have been through every phase of life together! Ironically, my mom almost named me Madeline and Maddie’s mom almost named her Alexandria!! Needless to say we were destined to be best friends. Maddie has proven to always be there for me not matter what. From Roswell North Koalas to the Crimson Tide, I could not think of a better person to have right by my side as I start this next chapter of my life.
Best Man
Tristan is my big brother. The best big brother I could ever ask for. Growing up in Dallas and Roswell, we did everything together. Everything we did we did together; soccer, football, swim (yikes), Boy Scouts, and even co-varsity volleyball managers. He’s my closest friend. No one in this entire world share the same memories as Tristan and I do. Sure there were fights (lots of ‘em), but having him as my best man was a no brainer.
Bridesmaid
Olivia is one of those friends who has always been considered family to me. We first met when we were 2 years old at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church while in Wee School. I remember it like it was yesterday ahh the good old days of building blocks and handmade crafts. We continue to go to church together as adults and it’s been great to grow up with her over the years. She has always been there for me and has been a friend I know I can always rely on. It's so special to have her by my side for this occasion.
Best Man
Cian, Cian, Cian. What can I say. He’s my baby brother, CEO of my entertainment committee. The 6 year age gap had little affect on our relationship. Our imaginations soared when we were younger, whether It was exploring the woods, playing basketball outside (or inside :D sorry mom), or spending days and nights at the pool. Cian was, and is, my adventure buddy. And I cherish him to death. What’s better than one best man? How bout two?¿
Bridesmaid
Annie/A-Town has been the friend that never fails to make me laugh and is my go-to adventure buddy! We met through Junior Hornets Cheerleading and have been best friends ever since! I never thought I’d find someone goofier than me until I met Annie, she blows me out of the park in the best way! She is such a joy to be around!.. unless you're short...Can’t wait to break it down on the dance floor with ya!!
Groomsman
Ben. My best friend. Who happens to share a birthday with my other best friend. Who I happen to be marrying. Coincidence? I think not! Ben and I have known each other since Elkins Pointe Middle School. Know matter how hard we tried, we could never really fit into one particular friend group. We shared a unique bond of being well, ourselves. And in high school, Ben and I starred in the deepest special teams group in Georgia Football. My last name might as well be Hogan, because Ben is like a brother to me.
Bridesmaid
The wing woman of the season! Jacquelyn and I first met Junior year of High School and I never had a friendship develop as fast as ours. I remember when she showed up at my house when it was about to snow because she wanted to get snowed in together and I thought man this girl is proactive. She has always made our friendship a priority and that spoke volumes to me. This day wouldn't have even been possible if it wasn't for Jacquelyn constantly bugging Demetrius to talk to me! I am so thankful for her and our friendship over these past few years. I know she is always someone I can call on when I need advice or just need someone to hear me out.
Groomsman
All of my groomsmen are blood to me. Max is a special case. Max and I met at a week long church retreat I was invited to the summer going into my Senior year at Roswell. He was one of my college cabin leaders, and almost immediately a bond formed. You could make a strong case that Max was the sole reason for me choosing Ole Miss. And an even stronger case for me going Sigma Chi. He’s my defender, my role model, and my second big brother. The Ryan Howard to my Michael Scott.
Bridesmaid
Addy, the little sister I never had but always wanted. I’ve known Addy since the day she was born. Being that she is Olivia’s little sister she was always with us wherever we went when we were little, sometimes not by choice. As we got older I felt a sense of responsibility to watch after her like she was my own little sister. We went through a phase where every time we met up to do something we would somehow be in the exact same outfit and I wondered if maybe her family adopted her from us because we were too similar to not be related. Mine and Addy's relationship has always been special and meant so much to me. Couldn’t be more excited to have her by my side for mine and Demetrius’s big day!
Groomsman
The very first person I reach out to when I’m in Roswell is Michael Manning. We met Freshman year in history class. But our friendship really didn’t kick off until the football season of my Junior Year of high school. Mike and I share a bond different from any one I know. He always makes time to spend time with me. And we always push each other to be the best men we can be. In high school, I already knew he’d be in my wedding. And that was long before I even knew the name Alex Martin. Can’t say enough about this man.
Bridesmaid
Cecily was one of my first friends in college and quickly became one of my best friends! I remember when we used to sit on the couch at DZ and watch wedding videos and cry at how beautiful it all was. I can’t believe that soon we’ll be watching mine *cue the tears*. We've had so many great memories together from game days to the endless committees we were on and I can't wait to create even more memories in this next chapter!
Groomsman
Preston, geeze. Whatta guy. Out of all the things I’m grateful for in these seasons, it’s that Preston was Alex’s brother. Fun fact: I knew Preston before I knew Alexandria! He was in my Spanish class junior year (¡Que interesante!). I value his opinion dearly, and getting the approval of Preston was a huge thing to cross off my list of “How to Win Over a Girl in 3 Days”. Just kidding just kidding. In all seriousness, getting the “OK” from Preston was almost as, if not more, important than getting the OK from her father! If you know you know.
Bridesmaid
I had the honor of meeting Taylor during my sophomore year at Alabama during sorority work week. I am so glad we got to know each other that week and the many years following! She is such an inspiration to me in all that she does and I know we will always push each other to be the best version of ourselves. It was an amazing experience to stand by her side on her special day and I can’t wait to have her standing by mine.
Groomsman
Meeting Grant was what I like to call “An accident of grand design”. Let’s go back to my first year in Oxford: For a year I’ve been praying that God would put lifelong friends in my life at Ole Miss. First day, I walk into my first class with 1 whole minute to spare. All the chairs are taken except one... right at the front. I sit down, stare at the ground and think to myself “Ok, Demetrius. Remember what mom said, ‘YOU have to take the initiative to meet new people.’” So I turned to the guy next to me, put out my hand and said, “Hey man, I’m Demetrius.”, he shook my hand like I’d imagine Mike Ditka would and said “Wassup dude, I’m Grant. Grant Chambliss. Pleasure to meet you.”. It was love at first site.
Bridesmaid
Halle is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met and by far the most loyal friend! I don't think the word "no" is even in her vocabulary. She will drop anything for her friends and always goes above and beyond for them. Throughout our senior year she would always offer up her room for Demetrius to stay in, while she’d take the couch. The kindness she has always showed to both of us was beyond measure and there was no doubt that she had to be a part of our wedding!
Groomsman
If I never met Grant. I probably still would’ve met Reed. Why? Because they were roommates, 3 DOORS DOWN FROM MY ROOM AT STOCKARD. I spent almost every day freshman year hanging out in his room drinking their apple juice and Rice Krispie Treats (i owe you big time! you too, Grant). But more importantly Reed loved Jesus. And we would spend hours and hours talking about life and God and our future. I really can’t put into words how special he is to me. Not to mention he was a member of our group who all rushed ΣΧ together! He’s an anchor for me and he’ll be an anchor for me on Alex and I’s big day!
Bridesmaid
Dinah and I first met during rush week of my Sophomore Year. She was in my pledge class so I always assumed she was the same age as me until one day she spilled the beans that she was a year older which made sense because she was much more mature compared to the rest of us. She is one of those friends that you can stay on the phone with for hours because she has so many great stories to share. Dinah is such a joy to be around and there is never enough time when you are with her!
Groomsman
Chris, or as the DeLapp’s call him “Christo”, is that fun cousin. Ever since I could remember, Christo has been there. Out of all of my 31 cousins on my mom’s side. I always felt like I had a special bond with him. We have some wild, I mean wild and funny stories together: from attempting to sleep outside in the Colorado Snow, to navigating flooded trails near the Yellowstone River (yikes x2), It wouldn’t be right for him to not be apart of my most important story of all. Love you very much Chris!!
Bridesmaid
I had the pleasure of serving on the executive board of DZ at Alabama with Shelby! Our first time truly hanging out was when we had to go to St. Louis for a conference. There wasn't a second that went by when we were together that I wasn't smiling or laughing. Her smile is contagious and she is such a light to this world. I know she is going to be a life long friend and someone I can always depend on!
Groomsman
There isn’t anyone who shares my sense of humor as closely as John Sharp (JS) does (though Mr. Hogan is a close second). We met, once again, through Grant, and although we didn’t strike up a powerful friendship right at first, after spending some time together we quickly realized how much our personalities aligned. JS is the guy who I turn to when I need help. Like all of these men, he loves Jesus. And he always wants to know how my relationship with The Lord is doing and is always their for help. He was the constant through my tears in college.
Bridesmaid
Kristina is always the life of the party and my go-to girl to just hang out and watch movies with, which is how we actually first met! Some of our friends were all hanging out at DZ and suddenly everyone except the two of us had to gone to class. I had barely talked to Kristina before and she invited me to watch a movie on her laptop! I knew we'd be best friends right then. I know I can always count on her for a good laugh and an honest opinion, which is why she has to be with me on my wedding day!
Groomsman
Tyrone. My main man. My Sigma Chi Big Brother! Ty and I met freshman year at the Cru Fall Retreat, along with a plethora of amazing dudes who came to be my closest friends and greatest men to fellowship with. Ty was my closest confidant. We spent countless hours together and he was one of the only people to actually invite or ask me to go and do stuff with! I appreciate him so much for that. He’s the one that pushed me to make it to church, and together along with countless other guys we led in a serious fight to disciple the people we were around on a daily basis. One of the biggest supporters and encourages of Alex and I, there is no way Ty wasn’t going to stand by me for this one. No way.
