Erol was a guest speaker in one of Alex's classes at Loyola, lecturing on tips for getting a job after graduation. She added him on LinkedIn afterward, thanking him for coming to her class. After months of popping up on Erol's "suggested friends" on Facebook, he sent her a friend request and they scheduled their first date. They've been inseparable ever since.

Alex and Erol knew immediately that they had found "the one", so it didn't take long for them to get engaged. Erol wanted to propose with Alex's family there, particularly so her grandparents could be part of the moment.
