How We Met

Those sappy commercials weren't lying...

We met through eHarmony! Andrea "smiled" first, Alex wrote back, and suddenly we were writing several pages a day to each other. A few weeks (and about SIXTY pages) later we decided we needed to meet face-to-face. We met for lunch in Elizabethtown and spent a few hours at the mall talking and trying to find a comfortable place to sit. At the end of the date, we exchanged numbers and never looked back.

The Proposal

Alex REALLY wanted Chinese food.

Our "date days" for the past few months have been Tuesday afternoons, thanks to Alex's crazy work schedule. The Tuesday after our one-year meeting anniversary, Alex insisted that we go to a restaurant that had fortune cookies. After the meal, he told Andrea there was a new game on the internet where you record yourself opening and reading your fortune, then post it online. (Nothing suspicious about any of this!) When Andrea opened and read her fortune, it said, "Big changes are on the horizon! Will you marry me?" As she looked up, Alex pushed a ring across the table. Sadly, the video did not survive. But clearly the answer was yes! It must have been meant-to-be, because when Andrea finally opened the fortune cookie given to her by the restaurant, it read, "A love relationship takes on an added dimension."
