They believe that mini golf is for everyone, which is why you don’t need to be a local pro to have fun at the Big Mini. The 9-hole courses were designed and built by the Big Mini team to be challenging yet fun for all skill levels…and perhaps slightly more challenging depending on how many Peachy Palmers you’ve consumed before or during your round. The course and bar design hearkens back to simpler times: when you could spend your summer nights challenging your family, friends, and/or foes to a couple rounds of mini golf – then cool off with a slushie. Oh and they’re not really a “club.” Just a place to have some old school fun and get some delicious drinks.
This plaza is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. It features an ice skating rink that serves as a public seating/concert space in the warmer months. Designed in 1999 by internationally-acclaimed artist Maya Lin, “Ecliptic” is an exceptional work of placemaking art that firmly anchors the park in its local context, highlighting Grand Rapids’ connection to the Grand River, legacy of creative excellence, and successful public-private partnerships such as that with the Frey Foundation that made the project possible. A likeness of the park’s namesake, Rosa Parks, commissioned in 2007 by the Grand Rapids Community Relations Commission, welcomes visitors to the foot of Rosa Parks Circle. “Stand Up for Rosa Parks” by nationally renowned Denver artist Ed Dwight is a reminder of Parks’ life’s work and a commemoration to those who fought for the equality and civil rights of others.

The Grand Rapids Griffins began play in 1996 as a member of the International Hockey League, operating for three seasons as an independent club before starting a three-year affiliation with the Ottawa Senators in 1999. The Griffins joined the American Hockey League in 2001 and made the first subtle logo change in 2002, removing the green and emphasizing red to celebrate a new affiliation with the Detroit Red Wings. The franchise won the AHL's Calder Cup in 2013 and won its second Calder Cup in 2017.
