We recommend flying into Denver International Airport and taking Uber/Lyft/Airport shuttles or public transport to the hotel that you book in Golden. If you are exploring anymore of Colorado while you're here or staying somewhere farther than Golden, we do recommend renting a car.
Please visit the travel tab above to see our hotel recommendations. There are additional hotel and Airbnb options in and around Golden/Denver or at The Water and Stone Retreat further away in Idaho Springs. You are welcome to stay at any location if none of these interest you, however, the events and shuttles will be based around The Golden Hotel.
The ceremony and reception are both at Blackstone Rivers Ranch located at 3673 Chicago Creek Rd, Idaho Springs, CO 80452. The ceremony will begin at 4:30 pm with cocktail hour and reception immediately following
There will be shuttles provided to and from the wedding venue and the hotels! The venue is about 30 minutes from the hotels in Golden. There is parking available at the venue if you do chose to drive, however you should be comfortable driving through the mountains and overnight parking is not available (you would have to move your vehicle to be outside the gates) Uber/Lyft may NOT be available
To the Venue: The shuttles will pick up from The Golden Hotel at 3:00 pm, then stop at Courtyard Marriott at 3:15 pm Back to Hotels: The 1st shuttle will leave around 10pm pm if enough people are ready to go back. The 2nd shuttle will leave at 11 pm.
Yes! Just meet at one of the hotels at the stated time to hop on the shuttle with the other guests!
It will be clearly stated on your invitation if you received a plus-one. We are unable to accommodate any additional guests. When you RSVP, it will allow you to select who will be attending.
We would like to keep the wedding an adults-only event, but understand this is not always possible. Please message us if you would like to bring your children and we will find a way to accommodate them.
If you plan on bringing your children but would like some childcare, there are many babysitting and nanny services in and around Denver. We are using Myers Childcare LLC www.myerschildcare.com
Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, while the reception will take place under a covered tent. Guests will need to walk on gravel to get to the ceremony space. For that reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended. The tent has a concrete floor. There is also an indoor pavilion for bathrooms and some limited seating.
Weather in the mountains is often unpredictable. The sun is very strong at this elevation and therefore it is usually very hot during the day, but cooler as the sun sets and the night goes on. Denver and Golden should be significantly hotter than the venue space.
Yes! Altitude sickness is real! Denver is at 5280 feet and the venue in Idaho Springs is even higher at 7526 feet. Please drink lots of water before and during your trip as well as look into medications if you are prone to altitude sickness. We do recommend staying in Golden Friday night to acclimate to the altitude change. Also, please watch your alcohol intake as the high altitude can potentially lead to increased sensitivity!
The dress code is Semi-Formal. We want our guests to look and feel their best! Suits and tuxes for men and long, midi or cocktail length dresses for women.
Yes, of course! Please bring a valid ID to present to bartenders for 21+. Drink responsibly and be aware of the effect of high altitude.
We kindly ask that you keep our ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day. You are free to take photos and videos during cocktail hour and reception!
See the Things to Do tab above for some of our favorite recommendations! If you are staying before or after the wedding please let us know and we'd love to recommend some other places!
