Salzburg is closest "big city" to Zell am See and also happens to be Mozart’s birthplace. If you are flying into Salzburg or coming through the city to our wedding, we would recommend that you take some time to see it, as it is one of the most picturesque cities in Austria. Austria is famous for its beautiful mountains and Zell am See is no exception. If you are interested in joining us, we have organised a hike of moderate difficulty (no previous hiking experience needed) to discover the beautiful area around Zell am See and if the weather is nice, a chance to see the wonderful lake. It will also give you the opportunity to chat and get to know other guests. If you do not want to walk or cannot walk but would still like to join us for lunch, just let us know and we can direct you to the nearest cable car or indicate transport options of how to get there.

First official wedding event, the welcome Barbecue, which will feature traditional music, Austrian cuisine and local wines and spirits. Dresscode: Tracht (Austrian traditional dress) or your own traditional outfits (if your country has one) or an outfit that has meaning to you (you can get as creative as you want to be). If you do not have any traditional dress or cannot think of something to wear, you can come dressed smart casual.
