How We Met

7.18.2020

My family and I came up to the UP for a little week long trip to just relax and spend time visiting with family up here. Our first night up here I was asked if I wanted to tag along to a house party. When we pulled into the driveway I definitely wasn't thinking that this house would soon be MY house in 8 months. I grew up/lived 5 hours from the UP, so I truly didn't know anyone at the party, I just knew it was some guy named Trevor's house. During the time at the party he finally made his way over to me (or was pushed and forced to come over by his friends) and asked for my snapchat. After our week trip was over we went back downstate. When I came back up for a second time Trev and I had now been talking for 2 weeks. One night we decided to have a bonfire so I invited him over, he showed up and spent the whole night hanging out with us. The next day he took me on our first official date... A side by side ride (how fitting for us). I think we both knew something was different after that date. We already didn't like leaving each other. So needless to say, he went home, showered, then came back to the cabin that same night for another bonfire. We spent the next few months making trips to see each other whenever we possibly could. It was amazing, however the goodbyes just kept getting harder and harder. Then a few months later in March of 2021 we decided we couldn't do the goodbyes anymore, so I packed up and moved to the UP with him. The rest has been history, our history.

The Proposal

11.04.2022

If you know me, you know I love Chicago. We went to Chicago with some of my family as a birthday trip. Little did I know it was also an engagement trip. It was our first full day in Chicago. We went and got a very nice breakfast then hopped on the double decker tour bus. We decided earlier that day (or so I thought) that we would get off at Millennium Park to see the bean. Trevor had never seen the bean before and Bean was my childhood nickname from my mom. So I definitely wanted to take him there and get pictures. Once we got there we found a spot and my family started getting pictures for us. Once we were done he turned me towards him and got down on one knee. I was in shock. Not only did I finally realize what was happening, but I was also staring at the most beautiful, sparkly ring I had ever seen. The reaction picture says it all (I had wide eyes filled with tears, and hands over my mouth) . I said "uhm absolutely yes" when he popped the question. Then I spent the rest of the day taking pictures of my left hand with any type of scenery I could find. It was the most perfect day/proposal I could have ever imagined for myself...In my happy place, with some of the closest people to me.

For all the days along the way
