Florence is full of hidden gems. Walking around the city, you're sure to stumble upon great wine bars, trattorias and food vendors. Some restaurants we really enjoyed: Parione Giannino in San Lorenzo Il Borro Tuscan Bistro
Florence is a walkable city filled with many cobblestone streets - choose your footwear wisely! The average temperature in Florence the first week of June is 83 during the day and 60 at night. Attire for the welcome party is "summer cocktail/garden party" - think summer dresses, jumpsuits and skirts for the ladies and chinos and a linen button down for the men. Attire for the wedding is "formal attire" - think long, bright color dresses for the ladies and suit and tie for the men. Much of wedding day will be outside in the garden or the lawn so please plan shoes accordingly. Don't forget your power converters and double check that your electronics (dryers, curlers, steamers, etc.) are compatible with European voltage!
For those arriving directly at Florence airport, taxis are available at the terminal to take you to your hotel in the city. Some hotels will also arrange pickup from the airport if you contact them in advance of arrival. Once settled into your hotel, all front desks/concierges will have taxi numbers and business cards to share, or will be happy to arrange private car service. We recommend downloading/using WhatsApp for communicating with taxi drivers locally (this will also help with contacting restaurants for dinner reservations).
