The nearest airport is Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN). If you are coming straight to Altafulla upon arrival, you will need to take the train or rent a car and drive from the airport. Rental Cars - Driving in Spain is very straightforward and the Altafulla Mar Hotel provides parking. You will recognize many of the rental car companies listed at the Barcelona airport. When you rent a car the default option is manual. If you're not used to that, be sure to specify your preference for an automatic vehicle. Train - The train is a good, cheap option for travel in Spain. Travel time between Barcelona to Altafulla/Tamarit is about 1 hr. There will be a shuttle to transport guests between the main hotel, Hotel Altafulla Mar, and the wedding venue. If you plan to stay in Tarragona, we will share more information about a possible shuttle to transport guests to and from a location in Tarragona. We will post taxi information in the weeks leading up to the wedding. There are only 2 taxicabs in Altafulla and Uber/Lyft are not available. We adore your families, but our wedding will be an adults-only affair so that all guests, especially parents, can fully immerse themselves in the joy of the occasion. We’re looking into on-site childcare through the hotel so parents can join the festivities stress-free.
Attire is Creative Cocktail. Bring your own interpretation of coastal sophistication: modern, elegant, but playful. Our palette is a spectrum drawing from the coast - sea glass blues to midnight skies, earth tones from sand to espresso, and natural greens. Choose to wear colors along these lines. (Kindly skip neons or non-naturally occurring colors.)
There is information about the hotel block under the "hotel" tab, but you are welcome to stay anywhere you'd like. Tamarit is a smaller town with few hotel options. Nearby towns, Altafulla and Tarragona, will have plenty of options but just note that they will be a short drive away.
It will be HOT in August. European cities are not as AC-forward so be sure your accommodation includes air conditioning if that's a concern. Please plan to dress for the weather at all activities so that you'll be as comfortable as possible.
