Alex's favourite destination in Ravello - The Villa Cimbrone, and its panoramic gardens of the serene Amalfi coast. Sitting high atop a promontory that offers stunning views of the Mediterranean and the dramatic coastline below, the Villa Cimbrone is the crown laurel of Ravello. Keep an eye out for the secret cafe bar at the end of the garden - only 10 EUR entry fee.
Le Vigne di Raito Az. Agricola Agrituristica Biologica We can’t recommend a visit to Le Vigne di Raito highly enough. The tour is run by Alfonso (fluent in English) and includes a peek at the production line on one of the smallest vineyards in Italy. It culminates with dinner on the stunning terrace of the owner, Patrizia, with dinner cooked with local ingredients and as much wine as you can drink! It also happens to be the place where we got engaged :) E-mail: info@levignediraito.com Whatsapp (Alfonso): +39 347 907 4117
Vietri is famous for its ceramics and a quiet walk through the streets here is a great way to immerse yourself in unspoilt Italian town life.. There is a daily market by the waterfront, a small selection of local seafood restaurants and a beautiful view of the town from the top if you manage the climb. The Italians flock to Vietri in the Summer as their own weekend destination and tourist numbers are low here.
A city that was consumed by a volcanic eruption with its history preserved until it was uncovered in 1748. There really is no reason not to visit Pompeii whilst in Italy as it is only a short drive from Naples, so can be a fantastic stop off on the way to or from the airport.
This family run boat company is the best way to see the coast from the sea. They run day excursions from Salerno harbour all the way as far as Positano and back, so you can literally see the whole of the Amalfi Coast in a day, stopping off at some of the most popular towns to explore. Prosecco and lunch served on board, recommend booking as a group for the best experience and the best prices!
Just a short boat ride away from the mainland, Capri is an island famous for it’s upmarket clientele and breathtaking views. None more so than those that can be found from Giardini di Augusto. We visited last year and finished the day with a cold glass of wine at the nearby Capri Rooftop for sunset (caprirooftop.com)
