Our Story:

Campers and Crawfish

It all started when Ali decided she needed a new adventure. She and a friend hit the road in campers with their dogs, and her journey eventually led her to the piney woods of East Texas. There, fate (and a little help from Tinder) intervened. Ali was a bit nervous about dating while living on the road, but a friend gave her the nudge she needed to meet a local guy named Lane. He seemed charming, even after he rescheduled their first date a hilarious three times. He kept her on the hook, though, by writing her a "story of us"—a bold move that proved he was worth the wait. Their first date finally happened at the Circle M Crawfish stand. With some encouragement from mom and sage words of advice like "if you don't try 100% you'll never know 100%", Ali decided to dive in and stick around East Texas for a few more months than planned. (Lane, who never does anything halfway, admits he was all in from the start.) When Ali eventually headed back north, Lane made things official in his signature style by casually saying "Well, I guess I’ll change my Facebook relationship status to 'taken' now." After a few months of long-distance trips, Lane decided he’d had enough of the 15-hour drive. True to his impulsive and fiercely loving nature, he uprooted his life and moved to Minnesota on Labor Day 2024. He still likes to tell people he cooked dinner for a "homeless girl living in a camper" one night and just couldn't get rid of her after that.

The Salty Proposal

The proposal was the perfect mix of surprise and "us." The plan came together during a trip to Florida for Lane’s softball tournament. After 16 hours of travel, Lane—the king of FOMO who never misses a party—suddenly refused to join everyone in the pool. He was adamant: "The beach is across the street. We’re in Florida. I’m swimming in the ocean." Tired and sporting a messy bun and an ill-fitting Amazon swimsuit, Ali followed him down to the water. Due to Lane's insistence at swimming in the ocean, unlike Lane who refused to even get his trunks wet. As she was about to give him grief for being a "loser" and staying in the shallows, she saw him kneel down in the surf. Thinking he was kneeling to use the restroom (as Lane previously established the habit of urinating in scenic spots), she whipped around to give him grief about how inappropriate that was to do in public and in such shallow water! Ali's double take revealed Lane on one knee instead, gripping the ring with every possible finger nervously, staring up at her. With a shocked, "What the heck are you doing?!", Lane smiled and said: "Well, I guess I'm asking you to marry me!"

Lone Star + North Star

10/31/2026

People often ask how a Texas boy and a Minnesota girl make it work, but the truth is in how we balance each other. Lane is our spark—extroverted, energetic, and fiercely protective. He lives in the moment and reminds us to "play today." Ali is our compass—intellectual, rational, and thoughtful. Together, they keep each other grounded; Ali’s logic ensures they are focused on long-term goals, while Lane’s bubbly spirit ensures they actually enjoy the ride. He reminds her to be human, and she reminds him where they’re headed. In true partnership fashion—and because we officially traded the camper life for a permanent home in Minnesota—we decided the best way to celebrate this new chapter was to head back to where it all began. Since we’ve put down roots in the North, we’re bringing the party to the South! We are so incredibly excited to host a big East Texas wedding. You’ve cheered us on through camper travels and cross-country moves, and we can’t wait to raise a glass with you under the Texas stars!
