Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway
The highway offers drivers numerous opportunities to stop at overlooks, quaint mountain towns and hiking and biking trails. The headquarters and main visitor center is located in Asheville at milepost 384.
Hiking Trails
Grandfather Mountain State park in Linville, NC - various levels of hiking trails good for everyone! Mount Mitchell - the highest mountain east of the Mississippi River. Can drive up to the top or take on the challenging hike to the summit Triple Falls - Easy 2.7 mile hike encountering 3 different waterfalls Chimney Rock National Monumnet - over near Lake Lure where Dirty Dancy was filmed! Craggy Pinnacle Trail - Easy hike to a beautiful view point overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains
