Like most modern romances, Alex and Jonathan met on Plenty of Fish, an online dating website. At the time, Alex was working in the emergency department as well as went to school and volunteered as an EMT, and Jonathan worked as a Process Server that spent the majority of his time driving long distances for work. They spoke online on and off before Jonathan asked Alex to their first date. On May 6, 2018, they met in person for their first date at Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot for lunch. They enjoyed each other’s company so much that their first date lasted over 7 hours. They bonded over their love of food, cooking, adventure, fishing, the beach, and the ocean. With every moment they spent together, their love for each other grew. A month later, Jonathan took Alex to meet his friends and family at a Memorial Day party where he asked her to be his girlfriend, and they have been inseparable ever since. Fast-forwarding to August, 2019, 3 years later. Alex is soon to graduate from nursing school so she can work as an ER nurse, and Jonathan works as a sales representative for a successful basement waterproofing company. After years of hard work including over half a year of surviving a historical global pandemic, Jonathan and Alex decided to visit their favorite city together for the first time, Newport, Rhode Island. When they arrived, they ventured to the famous "Cliff Walk" of Newport where they took a 3 mile hike of picturesque scenery and oceanfront. Near the end of their hike, they sat together on a nearby bench to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean and feel the cool breeze, Jonathan turned to Alex and said, "Do you promise you'll be my pita forever”? At first, Alex was confused until Jonathan got down on one knee and held out a ring. Overwhelmed by happiness, Alex’s eyes welled up with tears of joy and she said yes, marking the beginning of the next adventure in their lives together.
