Our mutual friends were getting married in Michigan. Both of us living in Denver but only knowing of each other, we decided to meet up beforehand in an attempt to have a familiar face at their wedding. We set plans to meet up one snowy February evening after a day on the slopes for Jamey and between weekend nursing shifts for Alex. Despite a long day on the slopes, an even longer commute home on I-70, and one wrong restaurant later, they finally met up and the rest was history. From wedding acquaintances to planning our own wedding two years later. Little did we know, our friends knew all along we'd hit it off.
One of our favorite dates was experiencing the Leadville train during peak fall foliage. We even noticed the cutest wedding venue while waiting for our train to board. This would foreshadow the following year's leaf peeping proposal. This year, after our annual fall train ride, Jamey would propose to Alex in an intimate moment walking along the creek in downtown Vail surrounded breathtaking Aspens.
