We are having a wedding in Mexico so we are encouraging guests to wear semi-formal tropical-inspired attire. For women, maxi dresses or other styles of dresses are great (please no extremely short cocktail dresses). Feel free to include prints, florals or solids. Dressy sandals, chunky heels, and wedges will be the most comfortable. The location is indoor/outdoor so we suggest no pointy heels. For men, suits in lighter hues, or dress pants with long or short sleeved collared shirts are great. A jacket is not required, but feel free to wear a sport coat or blazer if you'd like. Prints or solid colors are great. Shoes can be dressy or more casual, like a loafer or dress shoe. Shorts and sandals are discouraged for semi-formal attire. Ties are optional.
We are asking that the ceremony is child-free (we're keeping it short and sweet -- less than 20 minutes). There is space on the other side of the palapa to bring kids or babies for a nice walk. Kids are welcome to join for the rest of the evening.
We are not registered for physical gifts. Cash gifts are welcome but not expected, and will be put towards our honeymoon. But your presence on the day is what's most important to us.
We've taken all the info from the Barcelo website and put it into this one document: https://tinyurl.com/4ea5u7jk Key things to note: You will need to make reservations for the restaurants. You can make dinner reservations at the front desk (and at check-in if you know what restaurant you'd like to go to). The dinner restaurants have a dress code - "One dinner per night, reservations and dress code required. Reservations are subject to availability. Dress code: Semi-formal (long pants, dress shirts, and closed-toe shoes are required)" You may need to pre-book activities (e.g. snorkeling) at the resort, especially since it's a busy weekend. The resort is big. It's recommended to bring really good walking shoes. You may also want to bring water shoes and, if you're doing water excursions/activities, you might want to bring a waterproof cell phone case.
Yes, you can come to the resort and pay for a day pass. The day pass is based on availability; however, it doesn't seem that it will be an issue. The day pass includes full access to the hotels, food and alcohol, but does not include access to the hotel rooms. Below are the rates: Adults - $2,100 pesos Children - $1,050 pesos You will need to ask at reception or guest services for the day pass. They cannot sell a day pass prior to the day you want to visit the resort.
