Flower Child
Alex adopted Blanche as an 8 week old puppy in the fall of 2017. Ellis was instantly smitten (although it did take Stella the cat a little longer to warm up to her). While Blanche will not be carrying flowers down the aisle, you may catch a glimpse of her after the ceremony.
Officiant
Diana and Alex were in the same class at seminary and have spent many hours together studying Hebrew, theology and preaching together. Diana and her husband Tyler were a great support for Alex and Ellis throughout all of seminary and most importantly their dog Ginny Bugs was Blanche's first dog best friend!
Bridesmaid
Alex and Megan lived across the hall from each their sophomore year of college. Megan has supported Alex through some of the biggest transitions in her life and remains a steady, kind presence in her life. It's been a best friend love story ever since they ran into each other in the bathroom during that first week back at school.
Groomsman
When Ellis moved to Austin he began training in Brazilian Jujitsu. Mario is the professor of the gym Ellis trained at for seven years. He is a great friend and mentor to Ellis.
Bridesmaid
Alex and Valentina met in New Orleans at a Babycakes baseball game. They were also roommates for a year before Valentina moved to Houston and Alex headed to seminary. Valentina's supportive friendship and great sense of humor continues to delight and surprise Alex. They have been inseparable ever since that first meeting.
Groomsman
Daniel is Alex's little brother. As Ellis began to spend more time with Alex's family, he and Daniel realized that they got along really well. Over time the two have formed a friendship. Despite torturing her brother regularly growing up, Alex and Daniel have become close friends as adults. Needless to say, it was a big relief when she realized that Ellis and Daniel were becoming friends too!
Bridesmaid
Cora and Alex grew up in the same church, so they have known each other since they were toddlers. Not only have they known each other their entire lives, they have attended music festival together, and always eat Thai food at the same restuarnt when they are both in Dallas. Cora's unflagging loyalty and thoughtfulness inspire Alex, even though they now live thousands of miles from one another. They have the friendship of a lifetime.
Groomsman
Will is Ellis's big brother, he's known Ellis his entire life. While Ellis was in Austin he and Will lived together. Will is also the person who introduced Ellis to Jujitsu, helping his little brother find one of the greatest passions of his life.
Bridesmaid
Lilly and Alex have been sisters since Lilly was born in 1999. Alex was Lilly's first babysitter, which means these two have shared many memories with one another. Lilly's keen awareness and loving personality constantly reminds Alex to consider the world from a different perspective. While they are nine years apart, Alex couldn't imagine a world without her little sister.
Groomsman
Ellis and James met at the same Jujitsu gym Mario runs early on in the gym's life. They became fast friends through their shared love of Jujitsu.
