We first met in high school through a mutual friend. One of the first memories we have of each other is 1. when I hit a snowbank in my Jeep while Dane was in my car the first time and 2. when I yelled at him for being an awful friend to the girl who introduced us (he wasn’t actually awful). We were "besties" for about 2 years throughout high school and through Dane's first year at The University of Alabama. All of our friends and family gave us the hardest time for being "besties" because they saw something between us but I was absolutely oblivious that Dane liked me! Fast forward to my senior banquet 2015, Dane picked me up to talk and basically said "What are we doing? Are we giving this a try or not?" I naturally panicked and said sure why not just hoping it would turn into something and not ruin our friendship. We dated all through college and grad school (our 9th dating anniversary is in May)! We bought a house in 2021, got our puppy Dixie in 2022, and Dane asked me to marry him in March 2023 on the ice at Millennium Park in front of our families who were all secretly watching us above by the Bean. As soon as he unbuttoned his coat before getting on one knee I said “We’re not doing this right now” just like my comments when we first started dating in 2015! We have grown up together and on June, 15th 2024 we will make this thing official by getting married! We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
