Dakota and Alex met in 2015 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania thanks to Nick Rizzo, Dakota’s best friend since the age of five. Nick was attending IUP at the time, where he quickly became friends with Alex. Through Dakota’s frequent trips to visit Nick on campus, Dakota and Alex were introduced, and what began as a simple connection soon grew into something more. They officially began dating on September 1, 2015. After Alex graduated in 2018, she moved to Pittsburgh to live with Dakota, and together they settled into their very first apartment in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, which is also where their wedding venue is located. Sewickley holds a special place in their hearts as it marked the first time they were truly on their own, learning and navigating adulthood together. Many of their favorite memories were made there. Although they now live in West Virginia, their journey from carefree 19-year-olds to where they are today has been filled with growth, love, and shared experiences. There was no better place to celebrate their marriage than the town where they grew together.
