In January of 2015, we both boarded planes from our respective cities, Alex from Minneapolis, Minnesota and Brent from Madison, Wisconsin, and traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark for a semester of studying abroad. Little did we know, we would be meeting our future spouse! When I (Alex) arrived at my flat in Copenhagen, I was greeted by an adorable new roommate by the name of Elyse Eisen. Elyse was from the East Coast, but attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison. We became fast friends along with another roommate of ours, Ali Bove. A week or so into this adventure, Elyse mentioned she had a friend from UW that needed to store his bag with us while he waited for his apartment to be ready. His name was Brent. Brent & I spent the next four months building an incredible friendship and exploring Copenhagen. In the summer of 2015, Brent returned home to Madison, Wisconsin and we decided to give this relationship a chance - even though we lived almost 300 miles from each other. Our senior year of college was filled with countless weekend road trips between Minneapolis and Madison and many long phone calls. Soon after graduation, Alex moved to Chicago and we continued our long distance relationship until September of 2018, when we both moved to Minneapolis! On March 1st of 2020 we moved into our first apartment together and quickly adjusted to spending all of our time together, thanks to COVID. :) Brent proposed on June 17th, 2020 in our little apartment and I, of course, said yes!
