Things To Do

Max's South Seas Hideaway

58 Ionia Avenue Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

As far as fun yet fancy places to have a drink and or a nice meal that will blow your mind look no further. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Michigan. It’s probably the most authentic tiki bar outside of Hawaii Iv been to yet. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is mesmerizing. Honestly it’s like being in paradise. If we could afford we would probably have the reception here because it’s so fun. But not cheap for midwestern people. But worth every penny especially if you sit in the bar area. Side note- the s’mores are to die for. But a good tip would be not to have to much fun keeping the fire going once you finish the desert or a bartender may frown whilst taking away the plate. Anyways if you order the s’mores they bring you fire!!! Lol…

Bitter End Coffee House

752 Fulton Street West, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

My favorite little bustling coffee shop in Grand Rapids. They have games and fancy drinks. This place reminds me of the LA city life.

P. J. Hoffmaster State Park

6585 Lake Harbor Road, Norton Shores, MI 49441

One of my favorite camp grounds hands down.

Saugatuck Dunes State Park

6575 138th Avenue, Holland, MI 49423

It has many gorgeous views in this national forest full of many winding trails leading to Lake Michigan. There are even some camp grounds nearby a disc golf course. Definitely a fun place to see some waves and feel the breeze and maybe some nice wildlings.

Crane's Pie Pantry Restaurant & Winery

6054 124th Avenue, Fennville, MI 49408

A cute little vintage restaurant/bakery with a fun campy atmosphere. It has pretty good beer selection as well as grub. And if I remember correctly there is a nice big grassy hill next to the parking lot that is fun to roll down if you’re in the mood for something spontaneous. But I warm you it’s a little steep. But if I can do it so can you!

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

1000 East Beltline Avenue Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49525

Iv always wanted to go, Iv heard nothing but good things about the garden as well as the events held here.

Grand Haven State Park

1001 South Harbor Drive, Grand Haven, MI 49417

A beautiful shoreline right down the way from a cute beachy town with lots of fun restaurants to explore and things to do to pass the time. It’s the off season at the time of the wedding so most likely there will be less foot traffic. But still this is a fun place to explore with loved ones. There is a fun strip of artsy shops, old fashioned fudge and ice cream joints as well as many pubs and snazzy restaurants. Definitely a fun place to have a picnic on the beach, to laugh with friends or even take a stroll down to the beautiful pier at sunset.

Condado Tacos

449 Bridge Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

It’s a fun artsy taco place with plenty of options to build your own tacos. The drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is full of abstract painted walls that look like your at a skate park. This restaurant/bar has a outdoor dining space that’s really cool. It’s also in the heart of the city with many things to do nere by like concert halls, upscale shopping, beautiful historic high rises and many fun places to explore the city life.

Canal Park

941 Monroe Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

A fun park to walk and or take a mini break from the city. At times you can watch folks fishing for salmon on the rapids. It’s a little gem in the heart of downtown.

Grand Rapids Art Museum

101 Monroe Center Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

GLC Live at 20 Monroe

11 Ottawa Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Concerts and shows. Definitely a good place to see a band.

6310 Texas Dr, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009

A nature preserve that’s beautiful to explore the trails and wildlife

Asylum Lake Preserve

3836 South Drake Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49008

A beautiful place to go on a hike. Especially in the flower seasons when the flowers are sprouting about, the late summer when the lightning bugs are buzzing bright and in the autumn when the warm auburn leaflets start to dance downward to greet you with a special kind of magic.

Kazoo Books

2413 Parkview Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49008

My favorite book shop with a used book shop within it. Iv found most of my favorite gems in this shop owned by the kindest folk.

Bookbug & this is a bookstore

3019 Oakland Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49008

One of my favorite bookshops with a fun coffee shop that you can sit and enjoy the pages of your favorite read.

Terrapin Worldwide Imports

237 South Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

Probably the best place to find cute jewelry and cloths as well as gifts of Indian culture in downtown Kalamazoo. If you meet the owner he’s so very friendly and will probably remember me if you mention your in town for our wedding. Very friendly people with a great small business to support

LFG Gaming Bar

116 Portage Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

A fun nerdy arcade bar with old school games and a fun nightlife for Kalamazoo locals. This is the place where me and Austin first met on Saint Patrick’s day 2024. We talked for hours, played the Jurassic Park game till we beat it and this is the place where he got a second chance to get the girl. This is one of my favorite local places to stop in play some games, go out for karaoke or to visit friends who work there, this is the place where the magic happens.

Wicks Park Bar & Grille

449 Water Street, Saugatuck, MI 49453

Nice restaurant, best Mac and cheese in town hands down.
