FAQs

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Children hold a very special place in our hearts. In consideration of the length and solemnity of the Nuptial Mass, we kindly request that children under the age of ten not attend the ceremony, allowing all guests to fully enjoy a quiet and reverent experience. The celebrations that follow—including the Cocktail Hour and Reception—will span approximately six hours and include a formal seated dinner. For children over the age of ten, we kindly ask that families keep these details in mind when making their plans. Our hope is to preserve an elegant evening for all, and we appreciate your understanding as you make the decision that feels most comfortable for your family.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Transportation will be provided for the bridal party to and from St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and the Houston Country Club. For guests driving themselves, ample parking will be available at all venues. Ride-share services, including Uber, are strongly encouraged for convenience and ease throughout the evening.

Question

Is parking available at each venue?

Answer

Ample parking is available at all three venues, including the Houston Racquet Club, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and Houston Country Club. Most parking at the Houston Country Club can be found in a parking garage beneath the golf course.

Question

What is the dress code for each event?

Answer

The Rehearsal Supper is cocktail attire. The Nuptial Mass, Cocktail Hour and Reception are all black tie. Please wear floor-length gowns and tuxedos. Saturday's attire should reflect the reverence of Catholic Mass.

Question

Where should out-of-town guests stay?

Answer

We have reserved a generous block of rooms at the Omni Houston Hotel, where our immediate families and bridal party will be staying. While we encourage guests to secure accommodations at the Omni, there are several additional nearby options conveniently located close to all weekend venues. Further details may be found on the Accommodations page. For larger families or groups of friends, an Airbnb is also a wonderful option, and Ashby and I are happy to assist in finding the perfect home.

Question

What time should guests arrive for the Nuptial Mass?

Answer

The Nuptial Mass will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. Reserved seating will be provided for family towards the altar. There is ample seating available, but we kindly ask guests to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time for seating.

Question

Can I attend the Nuptial Mass if I'm not Catholic?

Answer

Absolutely—all guests are warmly welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in the ceremony. Out of respect for the sanctity of the Catholic Mass, we kindly ask that guests refrain from flash photography or private conversation during the service. The ceremony is a Nuptial Mass and will include traditional Catholic prayers, readings, the Eucharist and music that hold deep significance in our faith. To help everyone feel comfortable and engaged, a printed program will be provided to guide guests through each part of the service and explain the meaning behind key moments. Please keep in mind the ceremony will last an hour.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar at the Rehearsal Supper, Cocktail Hour and Reception. The open at the Rehearsal Supper will be limited to beer and wine.

Question

What food will be served?

Answer

Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and a formal, seated dinner at the Rehearsal Supper and Wedding Reception. The Rehearsal Supper will include a salad course, entrée and dessert trio. The Wedding Reception will begin with a salad course, followed by a duo entrée, wedding cake and late-night bites.
