Wedding Party

Meet the family and friends who will be standing with us on our wedding day!

Alex and David

Bride and Groom

Alex and David met in their first class on the first day of college... and then didn't talk again until their senior year, when they lived down the hall from each other. After some hikes, many long hours talking at Alex's job, and some mutual crushing, they decided to make it official. They have moved across the country for each other 3 times, and are excited to finally start a permanent home together.

Aisha Ansano

Officiant

I actually knew David and Alex separately first - David through working at Sierra Camp and Alex from studying abroad in Oxford and being religious studies majors. I totally predicted they were going to date before they knew it, so I'm thrilled to be officiating their wedding and to get a front row seat as this adventure continues. I currently live in Boston and am a newly-ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, working to create loving and deep communities. Alex and David - here's to many more late night porch conversations, steam room ukelele jam sessions, and everybody-kiss-your-spouses.

Emily Forrester

Maid of Honor

Emily and Alex share two grandparents, one home town, and a birthday in common. In addition to being first cousins, they have long been close friends. Emily recently moved back to New York City after two years away at business school in Philadelphia. She looks forward to starting a new just job three days after Alex's wedding. Emily first met David after watching him perform in his improv troupe's final show at Stanford graduation weekend in 2012. Over the last six years, David has proved to be as sweet, open, and hilarious as he appeared onstage that spring!

Karla Adams

Matron of Honor

Alex and I are cousins just 6 months apart! Although our early interactions were somewhat forced through joint family vacations, as we grew up, our relationship blossomed into a true sisterhood. I love having deep conversations over great food, being active, and exploring new places with my family. I live in Bakersfield, CA with my husband, Seth and 8-month old daughter, Sophia. I spend my days being a mom and working part-time in non-profit development for the American Heart Association. I'm so happy to welcome David into our family! I've known Alex my whole life and can honestly say when David came into the picture, she became even brighter than she already was. I'm excited for their future together as they continue to refine each other through the crazy adventure that is marriage.

Lucas Havens

Best Man

Lucas is David’s brother. He is also Fred’s dad. He lives in Minneapolis and loves it when Alex and David come to visit!

Emily Havens

Bridesmaid

Emily is David and Alex's neighbor. She lives beneath them on a hill in San Francisco. She has been living in the shadow of David for most of her life. Her most shining accomplishment has been her selection as a bridesmaid in the wedding of Alex and David. She also doesn't write her own bios, apparently.

Christian Larrave

Groomsman

Christian will be David's brolo fo sho. He also makes art in NYC. They met at David and Alex's college graduation in 2012. It was clear there were some existential crises unfolding across campus, but David seemed to be really keepin' his cool--and that was boss. In fact, Christian knows his sister will be super happy with exactly the kind of boss dude who keeps his cool, plus looks dope in a pair of shorts, and who probably never drops from third person into first like I'm doing right now. Because, hey, that's me: Kooky Christian, not David: Demure David. Dapper, Down-to-Earth, Demure David. Boss.

Jenna Wixon-Genack

Bridesmaid

Alex and I had the good fortune of living one room apart freshman year and bonded over our shared reluctance to make new friends (among other things). I will be moving to Seattle to start my residency in Internal Medicine this summer, and in my spare time enjoy running, being outside, and eating food. I first met David when we lived in the same house our senior year and started eating many meals together. Thanks for making it happen, Stanford Housing!

Peter Kaufman

Groomsman

Peter and David shared a longing gaze from the comfort of their mothers' arms when they were not but 14 months old. 14 years later they became friends at USM. 14 years after that, Peter lives in LA and David uses all of his gym guest passes during work trips.

Jimmye Ahn

Bridesmaid

On the first day of 8th grade English class, I was trying to decide where to sit, when I saw a smily blonde who radiated warmth and kindness. Before I could sit down next to her, someone stole that seat. So I sat down at the next open chair which turned out to be beside Alex. Good thing Alex radiates warmth and kindness too. I currently live in Chicago where I work in People Ops at a startup. When I'm not working, I'm sleeping. When David and Alex visited Chicago once, David pulled out his ukulele and start strumming. Alex joined him in song. I love this memory because 1) I learned that a ukulele can fit inside a carry-on and 2) they are adorable together. David and Alex are the most good-hearted, intelligent, funniest, supportive friends. I'm very lucky to know and have them in my life.

Jeremy Keeshin

Groomsman

Jeremy is David’s roommate from San Francisco and friend from college. He now lives in NYC and works at CodeHS. Some of Jeremy’s favorite memories of David and Alex are hanging out on their Chicago rooftop, in Wisconsin together, performing in comedy shows, and solving an outdoor escape room. He’s very excited to celebrate soon with the bride and groom!

Meaghan Pedersen

Bridesmaid

Alex and I met at Hockaday and quickly bonded over our love for organizing and planning. I currently live in Denver and work for DaVita Kidney Care, and my husband John and I spend a lot of our free time hiking, skiing, and spending time outside. David and I met for the first time when I visited Alex at Stanford senior year and it was “like at first sight.” Alex and David are the best couple to hang with and have introduced us to some of favorite hobbies (Hanabi, Spikeball, Euchre…), so I am super excited to celebrate with them in August!

Ben Sumers

Groomsman

Ben met David in a ramshackle house of recent college grads, when the two shared a love for improv and meandering runs. When his work on solar and infrastructure gets tricky, Ben calls David for advice and support. His favorite memory of David and Alex was being convinced to drink kombucha as Alex piled together tea bags to make a SCOBY and David described the various benefits of fermented teas (and cryptocurrencies).
