Please plan to arrive between 3:30-3:45pm. The address we provided will take you to a gate. From the gate, there is a small road leading up to the parking area. This will add a few minutes to your drive, so please plan accordingly. If you're visiting from out of town, we recommend exploring downtown Sykesville before the event. You may even bump into us taking pictures. It's a 13 minute drive from downtown Sykesville to the venue gate.
The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are at the same property: The Marry Meadow 2752 Wellworth Way West Friendship, MD 21794
- The property is a grass field with an open pavilion. - Parking: The property has field parking only. - Cover: The ceremony will not be under cover (unless we need to adjust for weather). The cocktail hour will be in the pavilion. The reception will be under a tent. - Electricity: We are using generators to power the lights and sound system, so we will not be able to accommodate device charging. Please ensure your phone or any other electronic devices are charged before arrival. - Restroom: There will be a trailer bathroom with lights and running water. - Accessibility: There are stairs leading to the pavilion for the cocktail hour and the bathroom trailer. There is also a decline in ground level leading down to the reception tent. If you have an accessibility concern, please let us know as soon as possible.
If you need to change your RSVP status before August 29, please use the RSVP form on the website (search for your name and you will be able to change your RSVP status). If it's after August 29, please contact us directly to let us know. We ask that you tell us as soon as you know you won't be able to attend so we can notify the vendors and update the seating chart accordingly.
Our guest list does not automatically include plus ones. Please limit attendees in your party to those found on the RSVP list. If you have been given a plus one, you will see this when you RSVP.
We respectfully request that this is an adult-only event. Only children who are a part of the wedding party will be present.
The closest hotel is Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City. It is 10 minutes away from the venue. We did not get a hotel block because we found the block rate was not as good as booking through other popular sites. If you are flying in, the closest airport is BWI.
The dress code is semi-formal. When considering shoes, please note that the ceremony and reception are in a field. Not sure what to wear? If you need some inspiration, the theme is whimsical wildflowers. The wedding party colors are dark green and light tan. If you wish to coordinate with the theme, consider rich colors and clothing with flower patterns. Maryland PSA: While the weather that time of year is usually great outdoor weather (highs around 70), it could be unseasonably hot or cold. We recommend checking the forecast in the days leading up to the wedding to see if you need a sweater or extra sunscreen.
You are welcome to take pictures during the ceremony. We ask that you stay in your seat (do not block the aisle), and please be mindful to not block our professional photographer, Brad. You are encouraged to take pictures and videos during the reception, especially once the dancing starts. :)
Dinner will be buffet style with delicious food from The Bistro in downtown Sykesville. If you have a dietary restriction, please let us know. Water and soda will be available throughout the night. There will also be an open bar with beer, wine, and a selection of spirits.
