We're getting married!

Back track to November of 2016. We were on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. Nadine created an account because a friend suggested she give dating a second chance and within the first week of trying the app, she found Alex. Or… should we say Alex found Nadine? Nadine popped up as one of Alex’s bagels and he swiped right to show interest and Nadine got notified. They instantly connected and talked about life, their upbringings, friends, interests and what their dreams were. Alex asked Nadine out on a date and she said yes!!! They went out for dinner, grabbing hot pot in downtown Berkeley, Nadine’s hometown. After dinner, Alex asked Nadine if she wanted to grab some Boba. Thank goodness he did, because he might not have gotten a second date. Nadine LOVES boba!

Part 1 : Alex knew Nadine was the one ever since she asked him to be her boyfriend. Nadine always followed her heart and went after the things she loved. Alex loved that she has always been true to herself and her feelings. Alex planned on asking for her hand in marriage by taking her to Japan in March 2020 when the cherry blossoms were out. Unfortunately, Covid-19 decided to take part in 2020 and they ended up having to cancel their Japan trip. Not yet defeated Alex knew he wanted to ask Nadine this year and so he kept planning. Take 2 : Alex and Nadine were supposed to go to Honolulu, Hawaii at the end of July to spend time with Nadine’s college friends as their “yearly” reunion. With his first plan of asking in Japan failed, Alex was planning on asking Nadine when they went to Hawaii where the scenery was beautiful and to celebrate with friends would be the perfect tie together. Covid-19 decided, nope sorry not this time Alex. The Hawaii trip was cancelled and so was Alex’s plan on asking Nadine to be his wife.

3rd times the charm : Still having hope, Alex came up with his third and final plan. After researching, monitoring Covid, the fires occurring in the Bay Area, Alex asked Nadine if she would be up to going to Yosemite with their friend Jessica just for the weekend to get out and explore. Nadine said of course that would be fun and Jessica said yes too. Little did Nadine know, Alex let Jessica in on his plan on asking Nadine in Yosemite and if Jessica could document this special moment for them. Up to the point of the trip, Jessica had to make sure to keep the secret and not spoil the surprise, which by the way was very difficult for her. On August 27, the planets aligned for Alex and the Yosemite trip was a go. They arrived at Glacier Point in Yosemite when the sun was setting (perfect timing) and Alex got down on one knee and asked Nadine if she would marry him. Shocked and surprised Nadine said yes and from that point on, they have been celebrating their engaged life together.
