THE START. It started at the dance if you ask HER, but that might be because she was too busy to notice he was interested. It started long before that if you ask HIM, but that might be because he always noticed her. We will start at the Homecoming Dance in 2018. Mya was planning per usual, and Alex was attending with friends. They ended up dancing the night away, and it was time to clean up. Many had plans and parties, but Alex offered to stay. Clean up turned into Ben and Jerry's in the Martin's parking lot. Ice cream turned into conversation and so began what would be a life long game of "Tell me something” to get to know each other better or to hear what the other person is thinking. When asked her favorite breakfast food, Mya said she didn't have one and Alex offered to bring her his. The next morning he showed up unexpectedly ready to eat french toast sticks and continue to get to know her. THE STORY. They spent the next 5 years learning love languages, making sacrifices, meeting family, making friends, trying new food, praising God, seeing new places, watching every Marvel movie, arguing, exploring life as individuals and a couple, cooking dinners, adjusting to college, and growing up together. Mya and Alex have never stopped having the long conversations that always started with "Tell me something." If you have ever spent more than 30 seconds with them, you know how deeply they care for each other. October 1st, 2023 is a day they have been anxiously and patiently awaiting, praying for, and planning for as long as they can remember. The couple wants to thank all those in their lives who have poured into each of them and their relationship.
