How to pay for things in Thailand?

While majority of upscale restaurants/bars/convenience stores accept credit or debit card, most smaller establishments like local shops/street vendors/markets will only accept cash. Tips: Always carry some cash, especially when visiting smaller towns or rural areas. Smaller notes (THB 20, 50, 100, 500) are more convenient. Inform your bank or credit card company about your travel plans to avoid issues with card usage abroad.
