We are getting married!

We met on Hinge, an online dating site. Our first date was February 6, 2022, at Cru Wine Bar in Dallas. When we met outside the restaurant, Melody remembers thinking, “He’s taller—and more handsome—than his profile photos!” Alex felt the same—Melody’s pictures didn’t do her justice. We spent hours drinking wine, sharing charcuterie and dessert, and having great conversation. It was a perfect first date. The next day, Alex asked Melody out again—this time for a more “productive” date: running errands. (Her profile suggested it—because even if the date doesn't work, at least the errands get done!)  We tackled Costco together and found ourselves deep in conversation. After shopping, we grabbed dinner at Grimaldi’s, and the sparks continued. After the third date, we both knew this was something special. We deleted our dating apps and officially became exclusive—boyfriend and girlfriend. Our first year of dating was filled with amazing memories, a few ups and downs, and a growing sense that we could handle anything together. We began talking seriously about living together. One thing was clear: we’d need two bedrooms and definitely two bathrooms. Melody had already been thinking about selling her house, and by March 2023, we moved into a condo in Irving together. Her house officially sold that June. That summer, we took our first vacation together to Holbox, Mexico. There was a little uncertainty at first—Alex wasn’t quite sure how we’d travel together—but the trip turned out to be a great success. So much so, we planned a bigger adventure that fall: a trip to Italy in November. We spent 2 weeks exploring, eating, and fully embracing the culture. It was an unforgettable experience that brought us even closer. After living in the condo for 18 months, we decided it was time for more space—closer to Alex’s work. In July 2024, we made our 2nd official move together to Frisco. As we settled into this next chapter, we started dreaming about our next trip. Ultimately choosing Ireland.  It’s Alex’s favorite country and the first place he traveled internationally with his family. What Melody didn’t know was that Alex wouldn’t just share Ireland with her—he’d create a moment they will never forget: Their engagement.  Getting married was definitely something we had talked about. Melody was sure she wanted to marry Alex and may have even applied a little pressure when discussing. Alex is our go-to travel planner. He handles it all—hotels, flights, car rentals, sightseeing. Melody now proudly packs light (and has officially backpacked through multiple countries!). For this trip, she had one request: to have professional photos taken while in Ireland. We found the perfect photographer, and she packed a special dress—vacuum-sealed into her backpack. Early in the trip, we visited Westport in County Mayo, and one of our stops was to Keem Beach on Achill Island—famous for being featured in The Banshees of Inisherin. It was beautiful but cold and rainy. Also, the only day Melody wore gloves. While Alex was soaking in the view, Melody was getting chilly and asked if he was ready to go. He said, “Not yet.” (Turns out, he was still building up his courage to ask.) Then Alex turned to Melody and said,   “I love you so much. I brought you here because this is where the first movie we saw in the theater together was filmed. I wanted us to be able to look back, watch the movie, and be reminded of this place—of our time together in Ireland.”   Then, right there on the beach, Alex got down on one knee and asked Melody to marry him. Of course—she said YES! Two days later, we hiked 6 muddy miles along the Cliffs of Moher with our photographer and took the most incredible engagement photos. It was cold, messy, magical—and absolutely perfect. When we got home, we took some time to enjoy the moment before deciding to get married in November 2025—and now we are ready for our next adventure—Marriage! We are excited to celebrate with all of you!
