We first met when we played on opposing teams at a game for a UTPB student flag football tournament. I (Alex) got hit directly in the face with a football, and Matt was the first person to kindly ask me if I was okay. He jokingly made fun of me for wearing white shoes on the muddy field and made sure to tell me “good game” after his team won, sparking the connection that would later grow our relationship. Later that night, we saw each other again at our campus’ Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) worship night, and we introduced ourselves. We continued bumping into each other around campus and eventually went on our first date. Ever since then, we were inseparable! We have already been through so many different chapters together, as two college students in love, starting our careers, first-time parents to our beautiful Mia Grace, and soon-to-be husband and wife. We’ve had two years of growth, love, change, and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our years continuing to choose, learn, and grow with each other.
