We met through our mutual friend, Bethany Taylor. She thought we'd make a great couple, because we have such similar senses of humor. After doing some Facebook creeping and chatting over messenger, we exchanged numbers and set up a time to meet. It was so easy to spend time together, it felt like we'd been friends forever.
It was a Saturday and we'd made plans to go for a drive up Gold Creek, when I finished with work. When I got home, Matt met me. He'd packed us a little lunch and prepared everything. I had come down with a really intense migraine before it was time to head out, so I wasn't feeling very well. The whole way up I was feeling really nauseated and trying to hold it together. He was being so sweet and trying to massage my neck as he was driving. He took me way back into the mountains, where we'd been before. We parked off the road, in a field, right next to the creek. He got out and unbeknownst to me, started scouting for the perfect spot. Since I wasn't feeling well, I wasn't getting out of the car. Realizing this, he checked to make sure my car door was unlocked and came over to my side. He opened my door and got down on one knee. I was totally surprised! I thought he was showing me someone else's lost ring. It was perfect, despite my unintentional efforts to ruin it.
